How quickly can semiconductor quartz cylinders ship?

Delivery runs 30–45 days on FOB Shanghai terms from our Nantong, Jiangsu facility, against a 2,000 metric ton per month capacity. Standard packaging is a clean plastic sealing bag, master carton and wooden crate. Engineering quantities from 50 kg can be scheduled inside that window, which is what makes early sampling practical.

What purity and hydroxyl level should a fab specify?

Specify SiO2 at 99.9999 % (6N) with metallic impurities reported element by element by ICP-MS, and hydroxyl measured by FTIR at 2.73 µm with a stated ceiling in ppm. Low-OH grades sit far below the 150–400 ppm of standard fused quartz; the exact ceiling should follow your maximum temperature and atmosphere.

Why does low OH extend quartz tube life?

Silanol groups lower the activation energy for cristobalite nucleation and release water vapour as the glass densifies, which feeds bubble growth from inside the material. Both effects accelerate surface devitrification, particulate generation and sag at 1,100–1,300 °C. Reducing OH delays both mechanisms and lengthens the qualified replacement interval, provided the hydroxyl ceiling is written into the specification in ppm.

Which certifications support a supplier audit?

Material ships documented to MSDS, RoHS, REACH, ISO, GS, BV and Intertek standards, with a lot-level certificate of analysis covering hydroxyl, purity and thermal properties. This documentation set is typically what EHS, quality and procurement audits request, and it is issued per lot rather than annually. Request a sample certificate before the first order is placed.

Can PQ supply a second source without a full requalification?

A full requalification is normally still required, but its duration can shrink. PQ800E and PQ800EH are supplied to a fixed written specification with lot certificates, and 50 kg samples let your team run FTIR, ICP-MS and thermal-cycling checks in parallel with commercial negotiation rather than sequentially after it. Plan for a parallel timeline, not a sequential one.

Do you supply machined parts as well as raw cylinders?

Yes. Send finished drawings with tolerances and we review draw direction, machinability and annealing before quoting. Parts machined from the cylinder must be stress-relieved at 1,150–1,210 °C; where geometry allows, critical dimensions are better set at the draw stage than achieved by grinding. Send drawings with tolerances for a machinability review before quoting.
